I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
